概要

"Only 2 left!" — the moment you see those red words, something you didn't even want suddenly feels urgent. Do you know why?

Good day, I am the Goddess Athena. Today I unpack the "scarcity principle" from behavioral economics — why fewer things feel more wanted, the three types of "limited," and one magic question that calms the rush — all in the simplest words. No jargon, I promise.

▼ Who this is for
・Anyone who buys on "only a few left" or "today only" and regrets it later

▼ What this video covers
The scarcity principle is the movement of the heart where things that are hard to get look more valuable. A roadside pebble becomes a "jewel" once it is rarely found. Three triggers drive it: a mental shortcut ("hard to get = must be good"), the sting of losing something, and wanting it more once we are told we can't have it.

In a 1975 cookie-jar study, the very same cookies were rated as more desirable and valuable when there were only two in the jar instead of ten. Ratings rose even more when the jar dropped from ten to two, and higher still when people heard the cookies ran low because others wanted them.

"Limited" comes in three types — number, time, and people. Knowing the type keeps you from being pushed around. When you feel the rush, ask the magic question: "If there were heaps of this left over, would I still want it?" And when you are the one selling, share only real limits, honestly. Someone who can say "if you're unsure, feel free to pass" is trusted far longer.
